Food Law and Regulation Update, Martin Hahn, Hogan Lovells, US LLC

Martin Hahn will provide an overview of the state of regulatory affairs in Washington, DC and the steps that snack manufacturers should be taking to ensure they are prepared to comply. Martin will discuss upcoming labeling regulations including the new Nutrition Facts Panel and mandatory biotech disclosure rules, the FDA’s sodium reduction guidance, and enforcement of the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).  Martin will also provide an update on the ongoing litigation activity related to California’s Prop 65 rules on acrylamide in snack foods.



New & Emerging Snacks in the Traditional and Better-For-You Snack Categories, Sally Lyons Wyatt, IRI

This presentation will cover new and emerging snacks in the traditional and better-for-you snack categories. While consumers continue to snack more often, there is an increased demand for flavor variety, while also maintaining a high-level of transparency. This presentation will discuss the factors driving growth in these emerging snack categories, and an outlook for future trends.

With this label update deadline right around the corner, Food Directions has developed an interactive session to walk members through a road map of the new requirements and how to comply.
